Venice, 1576. 110 x 145mm, set in a page of Italian text. Coloured. One of the earliest maps of Hispaniola, now divided between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Engraved by Girolamo Porro for 'L'Isole piu famose del Mondo', first published 1572, a description of various islands of the world.
