A map of England and Wales from the world's first systematic atlas, the 'Theatrum Orbis Terrarum', based on a survey by Welshman Humphrey Lhuyd ((1527-68). It was first published in Ortelius's 'Additamentum' to the Theatrum in 1573 with large strapwork cartouches fashionable in the Elizabethan period.
